President Javier Milei asked the head of the Central Bank, Santiago Bausili, to handle the inflow of dollars the government expects in a way that does not impact prices. 'The dollars are going to come out of your ears,' Milei told Bausili while speaking to business leaders in New York, referring to the level of investment he estimates will arrive in Argentina in the short term. In this context, he warned him 'not to let it go to inflation' and added as a reminder: 'You already know what I think about that...'. Although Milei did not provide details, his statements suggest that his idea would be for the dollar to fall as much as necessary due to greater supply and to avoid issuing currency to prevent stimulating inflation. Since the start of the reserve purchase program, the BCRA has acquired more than US$4,000 million.
